The 1 ct. Brilliant Round Cut Diamond seen here is set to show off its signature attributes of fire and brilliance.

The 18 Kt. White Gold Band has been channelled around its circumference. The shank - hoop - is therefore semi-flattened/semi-round which adds a depth to the ring on the whole. 

As it nears the center stone, the shank splits into what at first glance look to be interlacing prongs. However, rather than crossing, the prongs operate in parallel; they do not interlace: so it is really a modified Trellis Setting.
